An Ethiopian CSO built to last

Future Bridge Development Action (FBDA) is an Ethiopian non-profit civil society organization legally registered in 2026 under the Civil Society Organizations Proclamation No. 1113/2019 with registry number 7904. Committed to building resilient, self-sustaining, and prosperous communities, FBDA connects underserved groups with sustainable economic opportunities, localized innovation, and inclusive development practices. Guided by its core mission of “Bridging the Divide,” the organization targets smallholder producers, MSMEs, women, youth, and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) across diverse value chains and economic sectors.

Binyam Kassa

Managing Director

B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Agriculture, M.A. in Development Economics, and Ph.D. candidate in Environment and Development. 20+ years in agricultural value chains, food systems, and sustainable project management. Led climate-smart dairy work with Solidaridad and programs with EIAR, Yoba for Life, EU, EKN, USAID, GIZ, and Save the Children UK.

Daniel Tesfaye Sime

Head of Programs

M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering with 15+ years in leather value chain development. Led the Green Tanning Initiative (€1.29M) and LISEC / Green Jobs (€2.0M) with the EU, World Bank Group, and AfDB — advancing cleaner production, training 1,500+ people, and supporting SME growth and LWG certification.

Kalayu Gebru

Business Development & Partnership Lead

M.Sc. in Industrial Engineering with 18+ years in textile and cotton value chains, social and environmental compliance, and EU CSDDD. Led Solidaridad cotton and textile programs including Bottom UP! (€1.9M). Supported 10 SMEs toward BSCI and WRAP certification and strengthened 24 local CSOs and SMEs.

Samuel Abebe

Environmental & Industrial Sectors Lead

MBA in Environment and Sustainable Development, with 17+ years in cleaner production, buyer requirements, and manufacturing sustainability. Led and advised programs with JICA and GIZ and worked with 29 enterprises to strengthen productivity, quality standards, and market competitiveness.

Berhanu Woldu

Sustainable Agricultural Lead

M.Sc. in Agricultural Engineering (soil management and crop production) with 18+ years in crop and soil fertility, sustainable agriculture, and food-system transformation. Certified 21,000 smallholder cotton farmers for ESG markets and supported food security for 20,000+ PSNP farmers, with programs funded by the EU, BMZ, and MOFA.
